I couldn't let this post go without words 

for those affected by the earthquake in New Zealand.

I send good thoughts and positive energy to all those there, 

and to all of you with friends or family dealing with this tragedy.

Pines Ablaze for Skywatch Friday

As the sun was setting a couple night's ago, 

I walked by the window and saw the pine trees ablaze with color.

I literally ran to get my camera, 

hoping not to miss capturing the beauty of the moment. 

Of the shots I took, I liked the one above the best.

I enjoyed playing with croppping the pictures above and below.

I like the colors, textures, and layering.

But in all the photos, 

I think the illuminated pine trees are the stars.
