WINTER WONDERLAND

The wind blew, the snow fell, and everything froze overnight. The outside temperature was 25 degrees F this morning. Brrr. So I pulled on a heavy coat, my winter boots, and headed outside to document the winter weather results just as the sun began to rise this morning.

Winter has arrived early.

  1. What pretty pictures! Love snow in the PNW! I heard on the news this morning that Seattle already has snow, we're waiting for our turn down here (SW Wash.) Enjoy the white stuff, Kin

  3. Hi Kim,
Thanks! Stay warm and safe there in SW WA!
This weather reminds me of the climate in upstate NY. It's nice it doesn't (shouldn't, won't I hope!) last as long here though.
I love your blog--the elk pictures are amazing.

    Hi Genevieve,
    Merci!
After another day or two of this white stuff, icy cold temps, and horrible road conditions, and I'll be looking forward to rain again!

  5. Thanks so much, Kylee!
My friend gave me a start off her 'corkscrew willow' tree (Salix matsudana tortuoso), and it has grown like crazy. Must be happy where it is cuz it seems to grow overnight. I love the shape and its silhouette against the sky.

  6. Corkscrew willow! I should have known that. My mom had one of those when I was growing up! Yes, it's gorgeous, especially when silhouetted. Willows do grow fast!
