Returns

I returned home to the Pacific Northwest
after spending almost 6 months on the East Coast.

That morning, I was greeted by the return of one of the bald eagles.
(Please click on any photo to view it closer.)

An evening after that, the return of the Super Moon.

And in the garden, the return of spring...

Hepatica americana

Hellebore 'Double Queen'

Oemleria cerasiformis
aka Oso Berry or Indian Plum

Hooray for Happy Returns!

  2. Welcome back! 6 months is a long time to be gone. How nice to have such pretty flowers blooming to greet you.
I have been noticing more Bald Eagles around here lately. We used to see one once a year or so here, lately I've seen one or two every couple of weeks around this area. The other day crows were chasing one off.

  4. Welcome back! Looks like you picked the perfect time to return, just in time for spring bloom. We missed the super moon...it was raining...again. I'm thinking of flying south for next winter ;) Gorgeous bald eagle shot!

  5. All I can say is, instead of 'welcome back' is, sorry I didn't get to see ya! Hope you had a good visit on the East Coast...it's a pretty good sized area, so you may not even have been near VA. Enjoy your spring and summer in WA!!

  7. Welcome back Aerie-el! Beautiful pictures - love your Hepatica americana, in fact I had to Google it to find out a little more. And your Hellebore 'Double Queen'
is gorgeous. But then all of your pictures always are wonderful! I wanted the moon shots the other night too but it was overcast and rainy here.
