WORDLESS WEDNESDAY - fields of frosty reeds

  1. The color is very pretty, almost looks like a wheat field. The frost sure makes a lot of things photogenic doesn't it?

  4. Very nice. I love that color. I know some people call it winter brown, but doesn't it seem more golden? Especially all frosty like that?

gardener Catherine, you're right, and while I too love the way frost makes things glisten, I've had quite enough of it this year! How about you?

Karen, thanks so much for the link to the eagle story. I hadn't seen it. I'm glad there was a happy ending. When I lived in SoCal, there was a huge, gorgeous red-tailed hawk that I watched suffer and die in my back yard after we think it had been eating a poisoned gopher or gophers. The golf course was very close to our house and they were killing the gophers with poison. I took action, but I don't think it made that much difference given I was going up against a golf course and they wield some mighty power, but I did my best to make a difference there.

Joy, you are so funny! I love your comments, and thank you for the compliments. I've just started using more grasses too. What are your favorites?

Susan, I agree! I also find it nice to see that color here, given there is so much green, now that the odd snowstorm that seemed to never end, ended, and the flood waters receded and now we're just getting our typical rain off and on...phew...so there is lots of green again...!:)
