Skywatch Friday - June skies

The picture, above, was taken last week.
With the sky colors and the tree leaves showing their underside,
I thought it looked like an autumn storm.
Trust me, this is June, as in almost-summer
in the northern hemisphere.
Hard to believe, but true.

Today's skies are marginally better.
You see BLUE in the sky in the picture above,
taken today.
Does this photo remind you of
the opening of the television show,
'The Simpsons'?

And above is a shot of one of our
majestic resident adult bald eagles.

None of you have probably done this,
but I took this shot with
my macro zoom selected,
because I forgot to UNselect it.
Macro-zoom from 30 feet away. Argh.
is the name of this picture,
but I think the eagle is still beautiful.

I also wanted to let you know
what type spiders those were in the clusters
in this Wordless Wednesday post.
I believe they are called 'garden spiders'!
For more info on them,
check out this website,
and this one too.

May all your skies be good ones this weekend!

  1. lol... hands up... i've done the zoom macro now n again (ok, pretty often!) I love the stormy sun shot! have enjoyed my wander around your place too!

  2. Well, Aerie_el, I'm outside with my laptop and nary a grain can be seen on your eagle shot. I never, ever forget to select/de-select my macro. Never. Ha, ha, ha, ha!! And I've got a bridge for sale too.

Seeing a bald eagle is definitely a worthy reason for forgetting. Nice shot!

I'll be whistling "The Simpsons...." for the rest of the day. Great shot. two spider clusters yesterday. They're kind of cute, aren't they? When they're babies that is.

  3. You have captured the windy day well. The yellowed trees do look like autumn as they are blown around,

  4. What a gorgeous shot of the trees! You caught it in terrific lighting. I love it when the sun shines on the foreground and the background is dark and stormy. I hope you're getting some warmer weather up your way. I'll be in Anacortes in late July. I hope I'll get lots of sunny days! Thanks for visiting my SWF.

  5. I just love the light in that first one.

  6. Beautiful photos - I especially love that first one where the sun is hitting the trees with a golden glow - I can easily envision the storm that's brewing! :)

I love comments, and visiting blogs of people who leave them! Thanks for visiting!
