One Day In May

Since moving to the St Louis area last year,
it has been a real joy to explore much of what there is to do here.
I've learned that this is called a '20-minute city'
because you can get to almost any attraction in about 20 minutes.

One of my favorite places to visit is the Missouri Botanical Garden.

One cool, overcast day in May, the sights were as beautiful as ever.

The azaleas were ablaze with color.

There were places to sit, relax
and enjoy the richness of the day.

The Missouri Botanical Gardens and their family of attractions,
are amazing places to visit any time of year,
and at least one of them is sure to be a short 20 minutes away.

Bald Eagles Put on Show

I went back to the Seattle area for a couple weeks, spending the July 4 holiday there.
I have lots of photos to go through. Oh, so many. And not just from that trip.
Images for future posts will include those from the...
 Chase Garden near Graham, WA,
Old Goat Farm in Orting, WA,
Butterfly House, Chesterfield, MO,
and more...

But the first ones I want to share with you are of the bald eagles.
They put on a show for all of us who had their eyes on the sky
on July 4.

Bald eagle with Mt Rainier

A recent news report included an amazing video of
two adult bald eagles fighting near Seward Park in Seattle.
One eagle was injured but both survived.
See the video here.

A new day dawned,
and July 5 brought both peace and quiet,
both overhead, and on the lake.

Until next time....

Snapshot View of the MOBOT Japanese Garden

Yesterday was an overcast, drizzly, chill-to-the-bone kind of day.
Perfect for a trip to the Missouri Botanical Gardens!
Here is a shot I took using my phone in the Japanese Gardens.

Hope your views have also been beautiful.
