Skywatch Friday

Two sunsets in June 2008 on Cape Cod...

I love taking photos of sunrises and sunsets,
and try to capture their essence on film...oops, with my digital camera.
They can be intense and impressive, or soft and subtle, but each one is special.
These are two shots I took while I was on Cape Cod this past summer. They remind me of the intense times during that visit...the comfort of knowing I was helping my mom during her radiation treatments, the happiness of visiting with family, and the sadness of being away from my West Coast family.

  2. Stunning photos, Aerie_el. I know exactly what you mean about sunrises and sunsets. The sky seems to reserve its most spectacular shows at these times, doesnt it ?
I'm so sorry to read about your mother's trying times. I've been on that road with my mother so I truly sympathise and pray for both of you.

Sunita, Absolutely right on. I appreciate your good wishes too. This road is a tough one and it is comforting to know we don't do it alone.

Catherine, Thanks you for your kind words.

Genevieve, that's neat that these remind you of SF! I wouldn't have thought that there are sand dunes there, so that is pretty cool to know.

Tatyana, Glad you enjoyed Cape Cod! I'm fortunate to have family living there so I get to visit often.

Zach, that's cool you visited Nantucket. My niece lives there now and loves it. I'm hoping to get over there one of these times I go back 'home'.

Babooshka, It was an amazing sunset that totally lit up the sky. I was happy I was there to capture it. Thanks for stopping by!
