Wednesday Words - Garden Sanctuary

Thanks, Jen, for hosting!

The photo above was taken at Lake Wilderness Arboretum in South King County. It's worth the drive to visit, especially if you visit on a Saturday (9-1) when the nursery is open for plant sales.

  2. Hi Aerie_el~~ So did you buy any plants? The photo is appealing on so many levels. The juxtaposing of textures and the colors and the sense of mystery... love it.

  4. It does look very much like a sanctuary...something we all need now and again. Thanks for sharing this photo.

  5. LadyFi--It's a wonderfully calming garden. They also have a new garden walk that includes native plants and descriptions of how the Native Americans used them, all of it quite fascinating.

Grace--Not this time, but on many other occasions I have left with a carload of new plants! They have a really great selection, from native to all types of ornamental and everything in between.

Janet--the bench beckons one to sit and ponder, or read, or just be one with nature...

  6. Jodi--agreed, something we need...a break from the crazy schedules, work, and even the Internet (GASP!) at times.

  8. How peaceful it looks there! It doesn't seem too far from us and would be a fun Saturday outing for the family (and I'll make sure it's between 9 - 1) :)

  9. Sitting in a beautiful garden, especially if it's such a peaceful and well-composed space as you show there, would ease many a troubled mind. Never heard of this garden, perhaps a future SAGBUTT outing?!
